Richard Jewell had blatantly wrong information put out about him by the media and even though it was wrong, that wasn't enough because the law requires more than just being wrong for libel/slander.
Cyberhagen - March 5, 2016, 1:27 pm
The burden of proving the statement was factually incorrect would fall to the plaintiff.
Cyberhagen - March 5, 2016, 1:26 pm
Have to disagree with you here. The media has no "right" to publish lies (which is what libel is). Libel is not the same thing as simply making negative remarks about a public figure; as long as they are subjective, or demonstrably true, then no problem.

CONSERVATIVES - So closed-minded, that nothing sinks in at all, not even the facts.

The Dems' entitlement society is a threat to the US. “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.” -Alexis de Tocqueville.
WTFO - May 6, 2013, 11:44 pm
Typo: pay "no" taxes...
WTFO - May 6, 2013, 11:41 pm
In fact, ~50% pay not taxes at all. "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Ben Franklin
WTFO - May 6, 2013, 11:37 pm
for my positions. Something you have failed to do. Why not address how these entitlement societies have had such great successes in Detroit, Chicago, D.C. etc? Also, Stone correctly pointed out that the "rich" are not taxed "equally". They get screwed.
WTFO - May 6, 2013, 11:32 pm
businesses so grow their personal wealth. This, in turn, leads to more employment. The myth that business owners are out to screw employees is BS 99% of the time and is perpetuated by liberals to divide Americans along class lines. BTW, I provided backup
WTFO - May 6, 2013, 11:30 pm
Both corporate and individual welfare programs that create dependency are wrong. Having a safety net for those who CAN'T care for themselves is great. Having welfare hammocks for those who WON'T work is bad. "Job creators" will hire to expand their
StoneTools - May 6, 2013, 8:41 pm
do you really want the rich taxed equal to the the working class? They are not currently, they are taxed at a much higher rate. Close the loopholes, don't raise the taxes again.
Renza - May 6, 2013, 12:03 pm
It's common knowledge that no business owner/manager is going to hire people when they don't actually need people, they just try to find ways to make what they have more productive, so what validity does all the "job creator" talk have?
Renza - May 6, 2013, 12:00 pm
I am curious though, if you are opposed to these so-called entitlements meant to provide a**istance for food, shelter, medical care, and education. How do you feel about subsidies to the rich and corporations that are so blatantly abused?
Renza - May 6, 2013, 11:56 am
Quite simply, there are economic groups that are at a major disadvantage in our "free market" economy, I can't say I know or particularly care what ratio ethnicity/gender/etc falls into that economic grouping, it really isn't relevant to the actual issue.
Renza - May 6, 2013, 10:53 am
so, is this a correct summary of your couple dozen posts?: "we're not racist, you're racist! your information about the past is lies! helping the poor keeps them poor! taxing the rich equally to the working class is stealing their money!" that about it?
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:32 pm
If you want to see a modern day plantation, just look at inner city slums where Dems have held control for decades: Detroit, Chicago, D.C., etc.
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:30 pm
their "solutions" are the only thing that can help, because they are too worthless to do it on their own. It keeps them on the Dem's plantation. They just transferred from farming cotton to farming votes. Today's Dem party is still the racist organization
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:29 pm
It tells them the free market is rigged against them. It tells them they can't make it without govt support. It says they are too stupid (because of race or gender) to compete. It divides the country along race, gender, etc. That way, they can claim that
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:27 pm
The Rep party supports equality and opportunity for all. It tears down the lie that some groups are disadvantaged by the free market system. The only system that is racist by design is the entitlement system set up and continued by Dem policies.
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:26 pm
They reduce entitlement spending, increase self reliance, and increase tax revenues (Obama lied when he said Romney's math didn't work). The more people with jobs, the more people that get taxed. That increases revenues. Obama sucks at math, apparently.
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:25 pm
This stability promotes growth and hiring at all levels. Therefore, the policies Reps support create jobs that are sustainable because they are not dependent on the govt. They allow people to pull themselves up and take care of their families.
WTFO - May 5, 2013, 11:23 pm
Then I don't know what is. Next, you argue that free businesses and the market only supports the "rich". Well that is just dumb. These policies free up primarily small businesses (hardly the "rich"). Free market principles provide stability in businesses.

StoneTools - April 29, 2013, 8:27 am
You have vb and pf vying for the title of spam king. The messages they splatter are either inconsistent or not supported by intelligent thought or represent extreme views of the opposing parties.
StoneTools - April 29, 2013, 8:22 am
On sites such as this one, the extremists from both parties are the most active. This causes the wall between the member parties to get even higher and more solid. Critical thinking and compromise suffer.
Renza - April 29, 2013, 7:57 am
In the end, the history of the matter may have lead us to where we are today, it doesn't change who is currently supports discriminatory laws or equal rights, or one economic class versus another. The answer to those should be based on the present.
Renza - April 29, 2013, 7:53 am
While the political shift is strange, it essentially makes the names of the groups during previous times meaningless, for example the KKK did originally start as democrat, but they are now a**ociated with the (extreme) religious right.
Renza - April 29, 2013, 7:52 am
While it is historically correct that the republican party is credited for passing most of the equality laws up through the civil rights act era, there was a pretty significant political shift around that same time frame that essentially swapped parties

...While fighting for additional subsidies and deregulation for various businesses and lower tax - specifically on the rich. That is a fair reason to argue they're trying to hurt the poor. However as for the racist argument both arguments are misleading
Renza - April 29, 2013, 7:42 am
The MO of the republican party more or less is to cut federal spending, the most publicized means of this is essentially cutting federal benefits - food stamps, college a**istance, welfare, etc. Which is going to hurt lower incomes...
PapaFox - April 28, 2013, 11:12 pm
WTF - Anybody who makes even the most cursory investigation into the civil rights movement will know you're spouting BS. Why bother? And trying to make the current Repub party out as minorities' best friend is laughable. They're not as stupid as you think
WTFO - April 28, 2013, 10:53 pm

the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1964, to current day racial politics. They see the world thru race. They continue to lie to minorities by claiming that Reps (as a group) are the racists when it is Dem policies spreading poverty to the poor & minorities.
WTFO - April 28, 2013, 10:49 pm
Renza, the reason I believe the CRA is relevant is because it displays the lie that Dems tell minorities. Dems (as a group) have always been the racists in US politics. From starting the KKK, to Jim Crow laws, to eugenics (planned parenthood), to blocking
WTFO - April 28, 2013, 10:47 pm
Don't be clueless. 1st, I provided facts, see the thread on Dems' long history of racism. 2nd, I have a life outside of this site. My delay is based on limited time to play. Clearly it is you that dodges facts. Your ignorance of history is sad.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:45 am
Why are you guys referencing 50 year old events to discuss current day racism again? Rather than say... point out how republicans thought it was "brave or crazy" to talk to a room full of black college students at Howard university...
PapaFox - April 26, 2013, 7:18 am
It took you that long to come up with such a lame excuse to dodge the facts? Sad.
WTFO - April 26, 2013, 1:02 am
For the Senate, Dems: 46 yea/21 no = 31% opposed. Reps: 27 yea/6 no = 18%. So in each Dems were twice as likely to oppose the Civil Rights act of 1964.
WTFO - April 26, 2013, 12:54 am
Sorry. Wrong percentages. Let me correct the above on the House votes. Dems: 152 yea/96 no = 39% opposed. Reps: 138 yea/34 no = 20%. Fillibuster is accurate.
WTFO - April 26, 2013, 12:50 am
Tell you what, fox. Here's the facts about the CRA'64: Southern Democrats fillibustered the bill for 83 days (including Sen KKK Byrd's 14hr record). In the House, of 152 Dems, 96 voted against (63%), of 138 Reps, 34 voted against (25%).
WTFO - April 26, 2013, 12:40 am

yeah, not gonna lie man, that does completely sound like something fox news would come with it. I won't say that politicians aren't morons or discriminatory, but at least the ones pretending not to be follow through legally. Like with g** marriage.
Renza - April 9, 2013, 7:52 am
I do agree both parties suck in the grand scheme of things. We really need to quit these ridiculous tax games of high base rates with massive subsidies to reduce it... plus we do need to implement more (competent) regulations on the important things.
PapaFox - April 9, 2013, 6:01 am
You've been reading right-wing BS for too long dude. Nobody who spends more than 5 minutes doing research would believe it. Read and learn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964
WTFO - April 9, 2013, 12:07 am
The Dems have never changed the racism at their core. Racial politics is and always will be the heart of liberalism. Racism is against conservative beliefs. The only thing Dems did was to fool idiots that they care about minorities. They only want votes.
WTFO - April 9, 2013, 12:05 am
You want to see real racism, look what happens to an African Am. who is conservative. It was Dems who called Powell and Rice house ni&&as. It is Dems who call Thomas, Cain & Carson "Uncle Toms". You support the racist party. Congrats, bigot.
WTFO - April 9, 2013, 12:03 am
Thanks for repeating the leftist lies. Dems are still the party of racism. Most blocked the civil rights act in the 50s and 60s (see the thread for the facts). Dem policies keep poor & minorities in chains and poverty. Can't believe how ignorant you are.
PapaFox - April 8, 2013, 12:01 am
The Dems lost that all when they pushed civil rights legislation through in the 1960's. Now the Klan and all the other White Supremacists despise the Dems and align themselves with the Teabaggers. Oh how times change.

the KKK. In fact the Grand Wizard of the KKK was honored at the 1868 Dem National Convention. Also, the 1924 Dem National Convention (AKA Klanbake) had hundreds of Klan delegates & a KKK rally of 10K.

WTFO - April 7, 2013, 11:20 pm
politicz, I use that phrase because that is what that party has adopted as a title in the US. It is a truly misleading title since they seem to have more interest in govt control of every aspect of US life vs individual liberty.
WTFO - April 7, 2013, 11:18 pm
IMO, the majority of corruption in the free market has stemmed from DC politicians (both parties) putting their thumbs on the scale to favor their business buddies. Crony capitalism has destroyed the free market and created "too big to fail" companies.
WTFO - April 7, 2013, 11:17 pm
The govt's role is (& was envisioned by the founders) to fight against corruption and produce laws that protect the free market and individual liberties. Modern liberalism has none of these goals. Both parties have strayed from liberty and freedom.
WTFO - April 7, 2013, 11:14 pm
Libertarianism is the modern "traditional liberal". My hope is that the Rep party does more to incorporate them and strive for freedom and liberty. The TEA party has done a lot in a short time to push Reps in that direction.
politicz - April 7, 2013, 11:29 am
Then why are you referring to modern liberals as just "liberals"?
Renza - April 7, 2013, 1:55 am
The fact that something so simple as 'meat' needs to be defined in terms of what can be sold and referred to as meat, is just kind of sad... I'm looking at you Taco Bell... 0.o
Renza - April 7, 2013, 1:54 am
There are definitely downsides to modern day liberalism, its definitely not without its value though. There needs to be a certain level of balance between freedom and free market, versus protecting the populous and regulating against corruption.
Renza - April 7, 2013, 1:51 am
your description of traditional liberalism sounds more like libertarianism.
WTFO - April 7, 2013, 1:25 am
liberalism, i.e. Democrats, are about big govt and its intrusion into citizens lives regardless of its violation of the Constitution. It is similar to fascism (not nazism, which is different). It attacks free market & individual achievement for power & $.
WTFO - April 7, 2013, 1:23 am
And the fallacy you seem to rely on is based on ignorance and arrogance by a**uming that I have "no idea" about liberalism. Traditional liberalism is about freedom. It is what the US founders were and what conservatives in the US still are. Modern...

See, this is the sort of game that both Clinton and Trump (and arguably enough, Sanders) are playing to focus a winning majority of votes their way due to an outright lack of competition and choice. So much democracy.

Now, why would I change my avatar? I agree(d) with you that the man in my avatar is a creepy old loser. LOLOL! But if you keep begging me like that, I could always add to it. Anything for my #1 fan. And you did "call", after all.[comment-83019]
FoamyTheSquirrel - February 6, 2017, 5:22 pm
....Sorry, Ron, but worse than a tantrum. You being too kind. His is a schizophrenic meltdown.
FoamyTheSquirrel - February 6, 2017, 5:19 pm
Tantrum, is right? Gee Ron, why would you let him resume that without a disclaimer warning the rest of us? ... VD, you can't claim a grasp on reality when you were caught lying red handed in one of your fake truth memes.
F101Voodoo - February 6, 2017, 5:10 pm
Did someone claiming to be Ronald Reagan just claim that he schooled me on living in reality? LOL! Here are a few more memes that will continue to destroy your delicate grasp on your narrative. PS, Hillary Clinton still isn't president. Cheers, mate!
RonaldReagan - February 6, 2017, 2:24 pm
Adios, "son." LOLOLOL You can now resume your tantrum, pariah.
RonaldReagan - February 6, 2017, 2:17 pm
In the meanwhile,I return you to your impotent fantasy that you are some gonzo journalist bringing "the truth" to the world...on a website where a handful of folks visit to grab a laugh or two.Give the rest of us a call when you're ready to rejoin reality
RonaldReagan - February 6, 2017, 2:11 pm
It took you, what? Two days to recover from his knock out blow? We don't doubt you will spam the site with more of your "alternative truth" to distract us from the real truth about your own shame and failures, and that of our illegitimate commie President
RonaldReagan - February 6, 2017, 2:08 pm
In fact, you've been sadly #fail-baiting this site for almost a year now. Then he comes along, successfully baits you by letting you get in a harmless right hook so he could open you up and land his epic haymaker on your glass jaw.
RonaldReagan - February 6, 2017, 2:06 pm
Actually,we all saw as he totally owned you in that comment.Apparently,I'm not the only one aware of your pitifully thin skin and enjoying watching you troll yourself in a desperate attempt to make yourself believe that you were not owned, you are as well
F101Voodoo - February 6, 2017, 1:34 pm
Yes indeed. I will ponder posting another truth that will force you to change your avatar again so that you can keep up with your leftist narrative. You change your avatar because I'M owned? I will let you mull that over, "son"
BlueLivesMatters - February 4, 2017, 12:59 pm
Thank you, everyone else, for the lively debate, and all the attention for my meager memes! You're a fun bunch. Next time I get the itch, I'll be sure to swing by again. Word up

WitchDoctor - February 4, 2017, 12:23 am
Sooooo... you're saying that when you call the man in MY avatar "creepy", it's an example of someone looking totally owned? I agree. It was one nice final little lesson(for now)in how to "totally own" someone. Will let ya mull that one over, "son." CYL :)
F101Voodoo - February 4, 2017, 12:04 am
Now BlackIsBeautiful. Consider what you just did, luv. You made as your avatar a black Rosie the Riveter with your slogan as you saying, "We can do it" Then, in giant letters under your avatar, you say YAWN. If anything screams leftist femisism, that's it
F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 11:56 pm
Wait, WitchDoctor. Based on my last comment that made you look totally owned, you changed your avatar to make yourself look totally creepy? Haaa!Ha! You must be drunk
F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 11:37 pm
Anyway, expect more truthful honest and insightful memes (compared to the none you have contributed) to continute to make you jump around and beat yourself on your bu*t with both hands in frustration and anger. Love your avatar, man.

BlackWitchIsBeautifulDoctor... C'mon. First mistake: You are babbling nonsense. Second: You accuse a newbie of being a troll. Third: You create multiple personalities to troll. Forth: You wonder why Trump is president. Fifth: It's because of you.
WitchDoctor - February 3, 2017, 11:28 pm
So,it's settled then ... I think, F101Voodoo, you've learned your lesson. We'll be here should you 'call.' Word of advice: don't.Not in your -ahem- best interest. "I've no plans to call on you, Clarice. The world is more interesting with you in it."(2 of 2)

F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 10:59 pm

F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 10:57 pm
Sooooo... its Trump supporters burning down UC Berkeley and beating on white pregnant women because they look like Trump supporters? You're funny
F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 10:54 pm
As far as you demanding respect as an "established member"... well, hun, I don't see you CONTRIBUTING to this site... unless you mean that you are an established whiner and complainer. I don't know. I'm new here.
F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 10:50 pm
Huh... yeah.... well that's the typical, knee-jerk, preprogrammed, reaction one would expect from a typical leftist who just encountered a fact. The same type of knee-jerk reaction that propelled Trump into the White House. Good for you. Guess you told me
BlackIsBeautiful - February 3, 2017, 10:35 pm
P.S. It's not good form to troll someone's posters out of the opening gate. It's bad form. Unless you are the previous banned serial troll trying to start sh** again, my advice is show respect for established members, "new guy." Or GTFO. Peace, hun.
BlackIsBeautiful - February 3, 2017, 10:34 pm
Actually, your interpretation of reality is the complete opposite of reality. I can list dozens of well-documented lies by Trump. At best, to rebut that you have to rely on bullsh**, oh, I meant "alternative facts."
F101Voodoo - February 3, 2017, 9:50 pm
Sooooo... it's Trump supporters who are drinking the kool-aid, burning down their own homes, neighborhoods, and college campuses, and saying ,"Take that?" That's kind of the complete opposite of, oh, I don't know. Reality?

....It wouldn't be the first time Trump attacked someone in a hateful and discriminatory way,and then lied about it.I don't care for your Orwellian 2 + 2 = 5 thought-control BS about it.If you are too childish to be honest about it, then you deserve Trump
Dwydwyyr - November 21, 2016, 3:26 pm
He quite clearly mocked a reporter's disability. I saw it with my own two eyes, like everyone else did...unless you want to make a crazy conspiracy theory claim like user JohnGalt did that the hurr durr media manufactured the video and audio.
tommygun - November 21, 2016, 2:06 pm
he didn't mock his disability, he mocked their backtracking about not remembering what they said. You believe he mocked the disability because the media told you that. Do you even know what brought on the incident?
Dwydwyyr - November 21, 2016, 1:31 pm
Childish logic. The same kind a former member OTC used to use with no success. His attacks on Cruz are not proof he didn't mock a reporter's disability. And Trump's lame attempts to cover his orange [email protected] and lie his way outta trouble only worsens the sin.
tommygun - November 21, 2016, 1:05 pm
He was caught on video doing the same thing to Cruz, so Cruz has the same disability as the reporter?
Dwydwyyr - November 21, 2016, 1:34 am
Trump has also been caught on video and audio being racist, espousing bigoted beliefs, and bragging about s-exually as-saulting women for sport. Not that the truth ever mattered to Republicans. That's why you folks subsist off fake news and lies.Truth hurts
Dwydwyyr - November 21, 2016, 1:31 am
Tsk.That's why you Trump supporters spend so much time trying to convince yourself of your distorted reality. The truth spoke for itself.Trump quite clearly made fun of a disabled reporter. The media didn't have to say anything. He was caught on video.
tommygun - November 20, 2016, 1:47 pm
Really? The words that get censored make me wonder if the one doing the censoring is an Amish Quaker
tommygun - November 20, 2016, 1:44 pm

"Trump's salt of the earth racist supporters..." That one statement of typical leftist bigotry, stupidity, ignorance, and just plain brainwashed dumbassery is why Trump is president. Dwydwyyr, the leftist bigotry that you embrace elected him
Dwydwyyr - November 12, 2016, 9:57 am
America's demise won't be blamed on Trump, but his salt of the earth racist supporters. Actually- F*** that, they are more like MSG, salt is too mild www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7VaXlMvAvk I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
Dwydwyyr - November 12, 2016, 9:52 am
For all of Trump's sins, he's no better or worse than most. He's just a celebrity who is corrupt in his power. But his "movement" is just that: an American bowel movement of pathetic violent cowards. Yes, Trump won. But America's future lost 'bigly.'
Dwydwyyr - November 12, 2016, 9:49 am
Faux and I joke all the time that Trump isn't all THAT bad. He's like anyone's drunk but lovable cranky racist uncle. We all have one. There bark is louder than their bite. But his supporters? They are the real thing and the most dangerous strain of hate
Dwydwyyr - November 12, 2016, 9:46 am
You are right. Just because a plurality of uneducated rural bigots and racist fundies voted Trump into office doesn't mean Trump is a bigot or racist. But he IS a bigot and a racist because of the things he says and does.
